This is the Reality Expansion Pack, which is made by. Again… I have rarely noticed the difference and doubt you would either. As I am running the 1060 6GB graphics card on VR and not a 1080Ti, this could be the reason for my slight FPS loss. The only time I have noticed the difference is when I am in a very scenery heavy airport. I also run the stock Cessna 172 at 45 FPS (in VR). Most of my flight time lately is in VR, and I am able to run this plane at a steady 45 FPS, which is what I want. Some have claimed that it is a significant effect on the FPS, however I have only noticed a minor effect on my FPS (most often… no effect). Here is one problem that I have noticed and others have mentioned in forums that I have read. Take a look at the first photo of this post to see what it looks like. The look of the Airfoillabs Cessna 172… well you can be the judge, but I think it looks pretty amazing. (I did notice that a new version of airfoillabs Cessna 172 is coming out for VR, so this might fix the problem all together). When I do the walk arounds I usually disable VR, complete the walk around and then engage VR once again in order to fly. Now I fly this plane in VR, however the walk arounds do not cooperate with me in VR. You can add the pitot tube cover, chock the tires, tie down the plane, check fuel at the wing, check flight surfaces and essentially do everything that you would do if you were doing a walk around. So with this plane you actually get to do a complete walk around. So when you end up in a slip or it is windy outside you will actually hear the wind whipping past your plane. The engine has a realistic sound as well as the wind is dynamic. The sounds from the plane was one area that really impressed me as every switch and item in the plane has a unique sound. Fortunately it is very easy to repair your plane, however if you were to continue flying and ignore the damage caused by different events, you may end up with a failure in flight or on a landing. This damage gets logged in maintenance for the plane. You do not need to use the links, but I appreciate it if you do.Īs I mentioned above, when you start the plane, you need to let it warm up sufficiently as the plane will sputter and can cause damage or fouling if you do not fly this plane properly. These links will not affect your purchase or price in anyway. If you use my link and make a purchase, I will get a small commission that will help me to keep producing great information. Please note that I include a few affiliate links in my posts. The flight characteristics appear bang on, as well as the ground characteristics. Especially if you are running a VR setup with the Oculus Rift ( Affiliate Link). When you fly this, you feel like you are actually in the cockpit of a Cessna 172. If you want more information, take a look at my YouTube Video on the Airfoillabs Cessna 172. When you brake, you hear a slight squeak, the engine sputters if you don’t warm up the plane and so much more. Every sound in this plane is unique and realistic. At the time of writing, this is the more expensive aircraft, however it is well worth the cost, as they didn’t leave anything out. This is the Airfoillabs Cessna 172 (link to ). Now I chose these two aircraft because they are more advanced, have training functionality and in general handle like the real thing. Both of these are Cessna 172, however they act and look different. Now today, I am going to be talking about my two most recent purchases. This is where the payware aircraft comes in. Now, as great as the X-Plane 11 aircraft are, there are things that they don’t have that just add that extra bit of realism. Well, lucky for anyone that has X-Plane 11, it comes with a great set of planes that are well designed. To get the most realistic flight possible, you need to have a great flight sim like X-Plane 11 ( affiliate link). For the experience and realistic training. You should feel like you are sitting in the plane. You don’t want to feel like you are sitting at your desk. I think you would agree that a flight simulator has to be extremely realistic and has to suck you right into the pilots seat.

He is, quite literally, learning to stand on his own two feet. Slafkovský absorbs a hit before collecting the puck and looking to make a play.Every pass reception is a struggle tonight.I guess he just really had to get that out of his system even though Montreal held possession. The referee is very animated in making a call … against the Predators’ bench. Sean Monahan can’t accept Josh Anderson’s pass. The defence finally breaks into a three-on-one for Montreal. Jake Evans gets a chance, but it’s turned aside by Juuse Saros. The Canadiens are mustering very little in the way of an attack tonight. Sissons makes it 2-0 with the game back at five-on-five, on a long rebound from Allen.Savard tried the power-play drop-pass at four-on-four.He must have forgotten he scored in last night’s game from a similar spot. Nick Suzuki gets the puck to the slot on the four-on-four but refuses the shoot.Sissons joins him in the boxes for a similar thing. He’s been feeling particularly violent the last couple of days after the Kidney cross-check to Jeff Skinner last night. Gallagher gets his elbow up on a flyby of Sissons.Maybe Gallagher has just reached his league quota for the month. That’s the one things these refs aren’t calling tonight, which isn’t great when playing another team employing the 1-3-1.
I did locate a recent sale for one with 38,000 miles on its odometer, and its sale price was around half of the asking price for this vehicle. For me, the sticking point is the asking price, which is a long way above the average. That would tend to suggest that this one probably has plenty of life left in it, especially if it is treated with a reasonable level of respect. They also have a reputation for mechanical longevity, and there are more than a few kicking around on our roads today with more than 200,000 miles under their wheels. Using a Suzuki as the basis for a light off-roader was a smart move because they are a vehicle that developed a solid reputation for off-road versatility and on-road economy. The Geo Tracker is an interesting vehicle. It is said to run and drive well and needs nothing. He has returned it to a roadworthy state, and it now has 20,500 miles showing. When the owner found the Geo in the barn, it had just over 12,000 miles on the clock. It means that any attention that would usually be devoted to a clutch and shifter can be diverted to making sure that you get where you’re going with less chance of getting stuck. Mind you there is a lot to be said for an automatic transmission when tackling tougher terrain. Still, it wouldn’t be a fireball when it comes to acceleration or outright performance. The automatic transmission and power steering would make this little classic a pleasure to drive in heavy traffic. As well as the previously mentioned characteristics, they are light, maneuverable, and fuel-efficient. This is where we arrive at the other reason why so many of these little trackers were used as commuter vehicles. There are no engine photos, but we know that the Geo features a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, a 3-speed automatic transmission, and 4-wheel-drive with manual locking front hubs. The windows have been converted to power operation, which adds to the convenience that comes with air conditioning and a tilt wheel. The owner has installed a double DIN stereo with Apple/Android capability and GPS. There are a couple of aftermarket additions, but otherwise, it’s all as it rolled off the showroom floor. The trim is in good order, and the carpet doesn’t show any of the stains or marks that can result from repeated exposure to mud and other “icky” substances. Judging by the state of this interior, I tend to think that it has led that sort of life. This makes perfect sense because they weren’t horrendously expensive to buy, and they provided better visibility than your average small car, thanks to the raised ride height. While the Tracker was intended to provide its owners with a life of adventure in the great outdoors, many ended up serving as commuter vehicles. The Geo wears its original wheel, and these are free from damage, staining, and corrosion. The trim and plastic show no signs of deterioration, while the glass appears to be perfect. The panels are laser straight, and there is no evidence of rust. The paint holds a beautiful shine, with no signs of fading or checking. Either it wasn’t long, or the conditions were ideal because the little Geo has survived in excellent condition. The owner found it hidden in a Tennessee barn, and it isn’t clear how long it had been in storage. There is no mistaking that it traces its roots back to its cousin, the Suzuki Sidekick. It doesn’t take a lot of imagination to determine the lineage of this Sky Blue Tracker. I have to say a big thank you to Barn Finder Ikey H for spotting this little beauty for us. It can be yours by handing the owner $16,000. The Tracker is located in Port Orange, Florida, and has been listed for sale here on Craigslist. He has had his fun, so it is now time for it to head to a new home. It has a genuine 20,500 miles showing on its odometer and is probably one of the cleanest examples you will find on our roads today. He has revived it, and it is in a roadworthy state. The owner of this 1995 Geo Tracker found the vehicle languishing in a Tennessee barn. These blade options are more subtle than a traditional metal spinner blade and turn at much slower speeds which is deadly whenever you must turn the boat a lot to stay on structure. Perhaps one of the hottest trends we are seeing in our travels is the popularity of subtle harnesses that include small metal props, mylar blades like Mack Blades or plastic props like Northland Fishing Tackle Butterfly and Wingnut Blades. When dealing with clear water or high numbers of incidental pike, I often tie snells with Fluorocarbon fishing line like Berkley Vanish and offset the sinking characteristics of fluorocarbon by using a float in the snell or spinner harness. Long eight to twelve-foot snells can be deadly in clear water or over a real soft bottom. Most spinners are tied with a five to six-foot snell but I often prefer to use a shorter three-foot snell when fishing around weeds or using slow death style hooks. I find that fourteen or even twenty-pound snells track behind the bottom bouncer much better at the faster speeds and enable you to use speed to find and trigger fish. If your snell or harness is getting twisted, you are using too light of poundage on your snell. Heavier snells hold up to faster speeds so much better. If I must fish slow with light line, I often prefer to slip bobber or live bait rig. Since I do like to run bottom bouncers at faster speeds, I am also a big believer in using heavier snells. Often, we simply catch more fish with bottom bouncers by simply speeding up to cover water to find active fish and triggering fish. Usually, if there is any doubt, error on the side of heavy because heavier bottom bouncers are much more forgiving with not only depth but speed. This keeps your presentation close to what you are seeing on your electronics.Īs you change depths, you can always let out more line or pick up line. There are exceptions of course, there are times when we will run lighter bottom bouncers behind the boat at faster speeds particularly along shallow flats but this is the basic starting point.Īn ounce for every ten feet of water will enable you to easily fish the bottom bouncer below the boat at about a forty-five-degree angle. As a rule of thumb, we recommend an ounce of weight for every ten feet of water.Ĭhoosing the right weight is important so that you can keep the bottom bouncer along the bottom upright and close to the boat. which ultimately greatly aids your boat control and understanding of a location, the wire on a bottom bouncer transmits so much valuable information. Great tools for really fine-tuning bottom transitions and feeling rock, gravel, etc. Prop rigs like Northland Fishing Tackle’s Butterfly Blade are simply deadly as they turn at much slower speeds than traditional spinner blades which keeps the presentation off the bottom and out of snags particularly when you have to turn the boat a lot to stay on tight structure.īottom bouncers can also help you really learn what you are fishing. Feeling a hard strike on a bottom bouncer and setting the hook is right up with catching a fish on a jig. I have often joked that bottom bouncers are a guide’s best friend because you can catch a lot of walleye with a bottom bouncer regardless of experience or feel. You can also simply put the rod in the rod holder and the rod simply loads up with a fish.īottom bouncers are so simple to use and so effective. Through this entire spectrum, walleye bottom bouncers are forgiving in that you can slide out into deeper water or move up shallow and keep your presentation near the bottom if need be. You can run spinner harnesses like Cabela's Walleye sinner harness rig with blades.Īll these options enable the angler to fish slow or fast, with subtleness or vibration with flash. You can run half crawler Slow Death style fishing hooks that have become so popular over the last decade. You can also slow down at a mile per hour or less. You can speed up to cover water at over two miles per hour with a bottom bouncer. The reason bottom bouncers are so effective is the simple versatility. Come mid summer, bottom bouncers are probably my go to presentation to catch walleyes day in and day out on many different fisheries. The popularity of bottom bouncers however has expanded far and wide. In both North and South Dakota, bottom bouncer rigs have been catching walleye on the Missouri River reservoirs for an awfully long time. Here, users get a far more detailed level of up-front control over the three oscillators and the filter. Like its real-world inspiration, its sound can reach from retro early digital tones to a solid range of synthesised pianos, complex pads and edgy, pulsing synth leads.Ĭompared to other synths of the era, the SQ-80 was accessible when it came to programming, but the expanded view of Arturia’s plugin version is still a welcome addition. A lesser-known highlight from the early days of digital synths, the original SQ-80 paired 8-bit digital oscillators with a Curtis-style analogue filter and analogue amp section.Īrturia’s SQ-80 V has been available for a while, but it’s a welcome addition. The other emulation added for V Collection 9 is the SQ-80 V, a software recreation of Ensoniq’s hybrid synthesiser first released in the mid-1980s. Many already have access to an MS-20, but it’s a worthy addition. As a synth it has wonderful classic synth FX, drones and percussive tones as well as the more obvious basses and leads. NI’s bundle is broader than the V Collection, with effects and more sampled instruments.Īlthough the MS-20 V is largely pitched at aggressive synth sounds, the MS-20’s semi-modular design has always been far more versatile than it initially appears. Korg’s own emulation bundle also offers an officially branded – and pretty impressive – MS-20. This aside, there’s little to differentiate the core elements of Arturia’s synth from other recreations. It also adds a few extra features, like a simple oscillator sync switch and extra front panel modulation routings. Comparatively, Arturia’s MS-20 feels like it pushes into full-bodied overdriven territory a little more easily than Korg’s software version or the modern hardware recreations. Arturia leans hard into this side of the MS-20’s character in branding, offering up plenty of hard-edged presets to match. The OG MS-20 was known for its ability to sound gritty, thanks to weighty, drivable oscillators and raspy resonant filters. And that’s before we even get to unofficial versions… Since then Korg has released multiple hardware iterations, including desktop and full-sized reissues, all of which come on top of Korg’s own software MS-20, which has been on the market since the early ’00s. Korg’s own hardware reissue, the MS-20 mini, was one of the first significant synths of the affordable analogue revival. The first is a synth that we’re surprised it’s taken Arturia this long to attempt: the Korg MS-20, hardly obscure. V Collection 9 introduces two new emulated instruments to the package. Let’s tackle the more conventional additions first though.
